When envisioning a trip to wine country, many of us picture discovering little, unheard of boutique wineries and delicious handcrafted wines. Yet, most of us don’t have the time or ‘scoop’ on how to ferret them out.

Locals Tasting Room

As usual, entrepreneurship speaks to the will of the consumer. In May of 2002, Locals opened it's doors as the first independently owned collective tasting room in California. Today Locals features over 70 different wines from 10 unique award-winning wineries and has become a preffered stop for a new generation of wine lovers.

Locals specializes in flight tastings, which allow you to parallel taste 5 pinots or 6 Zinfandels for example, all made by different local winemakers. The experience is not only fun, but also gives you a fast education in the particular preferences of your own palate. In one relaxing and spirited stop, you can learn more than you usually do in an entire wine country vacation. No longer do you need to drive from winery to winery to try your favorite varietals, all too often leaving behind a wine only to later find it was the best of the day. Frequently, you only vaguely remember what you liked about that last Zin, trying them side-by-side utilizes the tricks of the experts to find which wines you want to take home and pop the cork on.

Locals interviewed over 40 wineries to find the 10 in the room. All of the 70 wines are open and available for tasting. Tasting is always complimentary. Open until 6pm every day, Locals is one of the latest games in wine country.
